WATSON SECURES
SIX REDS TITLE
Stratford snooker star Stuart Watson proved too strong in defeating Jamie Clements [Cambridge] to win the Six Reds Championship at the Court Club, Peterborough. Having survived a tough group that saw three of the four players all tied on 4 points, he cruised through the remainder of the tournament to capture the title. A day of shock results in the group stages saw Graham Tilley defeat Australian Ryan Thomerson 3-2, teenager Alec Chalmers beat the evergreen Steve Singh by the same scoreline, and rising prospect Charon Parker upset ex WST professional Harvey Chandler 3-1. The last eight saw Legends League runner-up Colin Mitchell fall 2-3 to Tom Parry, veteran Singh seeing off Sam Boome by a 3-1 scoreline and both Watson and Clements claiming whitewash wins over Tilley and Darren Bettney. The semi-final line-up saw Clements defeat fellow Cambridge league player Tom Parry 3-0, whilst Watson was made to work hard before securing a 3-1 win over Steve 'The Turbanator' Singh. He then raced into a 2-0 advantage in the final, before a monster fluke on the last blue enabled him to clear to black for a 3-1 victory over Clements and claim his maiden Legends Tour title and take the first prize of £225. Colin Mitchell compiled the highest break of the day with a 67.

FLAWLESS GRAY BECOMES A LEGEND
Mark Gray produced a clinical display of break building to win the inaugural Legends League. The Bourne cueman proved too strong for the rest of the 8 man field, as he cruised to victory in the final, defeating Northampton's Colin Mitchell 3-0, where he top scored with an effort of 53. His most impressive match was his 4-0 victory over former WST professional Lewis Roberts in Group B, with breaks of 65, 89 and 62. There were plenty of other highlights in the group phase, as young Luke Gilbert secured wins over Steve Martin 4-0, which featured a break of 77, and a 3-1 defeat of Roberts, highlighted by a knock of 75. In Group A, Colin Mitchell rolled back the years remaining unbeaten, whilst long term rivals Sam Boome and Dom Cooney played out an exciting 2-2 draw. But it was Gray's day, as the former 9-Ball Mosconi Cup champion showed his class, compiling the event's highest break with a 90, en route to lifting the trophy and the £150 first prize.
